All of us at Voice of Witness are shaken and saddened by the passing of Studs Terkel. It is an understatement to say that he was an inspiration to our project—which was first conceived outside of a Studs Terkel event in Berkeley—and a personal hero to all of us. Our thoughts and condolences go out to those who were close to him. The Chicago Tribune has published a commendable obituary for this singular figure in the American literary and cultural fabric.
