VOLUNTEER NEEDS: SPEAKERS OF COLOMBIAN SPANISH

Posted on September 21, 2010 |

Voice of Witness is currently seeking native speakers of Colombian Spanish to help transcribe interviews for our forthcoming book on Colombia.

This collection of oral histories, edited by Sybilla Brodzinsky and Max Schoening, will focus on the decades-long conflict there between leftist guerillas, right-wing militias and Colombian military that has led to the forced displacement of over 4 million people since 1997.

If you would like to help, please email us at letters@voiceofwitness.com with “Colombia transcriber” in the subject line.

Voice of Witness is a nonprofit book series that empowers those most closely affected by contemporary social injustice. Using oral history as a foundation, the series depicts human rights crises around the world through the stories of the men and women who experience them. Voice of Witness was founded by author Dave Eggers and physician/human rights scholar Lola Vollen, and is the nonprofit division of McSweeney's Books.
