Write one paragraph: What parts of your persuasive letter do you feel really good about right now? What parts concern you? What do you want feedback on?

Model:

Hand out the peer response form (attached) and review, asking for questions.

If you have time/examples, model giving peer response to a draft persuasive letter.

Peer response:

Have students find peers to read and give response to their first drafts. Repeat.

Revision:

Students read response sheets, making revisions on their first drafts as appropriate.

Second draft:

Students begin writing second drafts.

Closure

Whip around the room, asking students to identify the best response they received from peers.

Students complete second draft of persuasive letters, and prepare to send them the following day.
